Admissions
The Ascension Catholic Academy Trust is the admissions authority and has delegated responsibility for admissions to the Local Governing Body of the school. The school's Governing Body is responsible for admissions and each year publishes its Admissions Policy which specifies how Governors consider applications for admissions to the school. Before you make an application for the admission of your child, you are strongly advised to consider carefully the current Admissions Policies below. This sets out in detail how Governors manage the admissions process and the order of priority in which applications are considered. An understanding of the policy may assist you in avoiding the disappointment of a failed application.
Nursery Admissions
We have a friendly, caring and nurturing setting situated within the grounds of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School. Our nursery offers children an opportunity to have a high quality educational start in life, learning through their own experiences and play. Our passionate staff support and ensure all children are able to develop and flourish during their time with us in nursery. We offer a balance of child initiated and adult led activities, encouraging independence, to develop their self-confidence and resilience. The staff are there for your child throughout their session and carefully observe, assess and provide appropriate next steps to help your child’s development and learning.
We will be holding open mornings for our nursery during the academic year. These will be held in November, February and June. This will involve booking a drop-in session to see our nursery in action.

At Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School, our Reception class offers children a joyful and nurturing beginning to their primary school journey. Rooted firmly in our Catholic faith, we place Christ at the heart of everything we do, creating an environment where children feel loved, valued and inspired to grow both academically and spiritually.
From their very first day, children are welcomed into a caring community where Gospel values such as kindness, respect and compassion are lived out each day. Through prayer, collective worship and the celebration of the Church’s liturgical year, our youngest pupils begin to develop a meaningful understanding of faith and the importance of caring for others. We work closely with families to ensure that the partnership between home, school and parish supports every child’s development.
Our Reception environment provides a rich and stimulating start to learning. Children are encouraged to explore, question and discover through a carefully balanced approach of child-initiated play and thoughtfully planned adult-led activities. Our experienced and dedicated staff create opportunities that nurture curiosity, creativity and independence, helping children to develop confidence and resilience as learners.
Every child is known and valued as an individual. Staff carefully observe and assess each child’s progress, ensuring that learning experiences are tailored to support their next steps. Through this attentive and supportive approach, children are able to flourish socially, emotionally and academically during this important stage of development.
In Reception, children begin not only their journey as learners, but also as members of a compassionate Catholic community. Our aim is to ensure that every child leaves their first year of school feeling confident, happy and ready to continue their learning journey with faith, curiosity and a love of learning.
We will be holding open mornings for our school during the academic year. These will be held in the Autumn Term. This will involve booking a session to come see our school.
