Online Safety

Online Safety at Our Lady of the Rosary

At Our Lady of the Rosary, safeguarding extends beyond the classroom and into the digital world. We recognise that technology plays an important role in children's learning, communication and everyday lives. We are committed to helping our pupils use technology safely, responsibly and confidently.

Through our curriculum, assemblies and wider school life, children learn how to make sensible choices online, protect their personal information, communicate respectfully and recognise situations that may make them feel uncomfortable or unsafe. They are encouraged to speak to a trusted adult whenever something online worries or confuses them.

We also teach pupils to think critically about the information they see online, understand how to use new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), safely and appropriately, and develop the knowledge and skills they need to become responsible digital citizens.

We work closely with parents and carers to promote consistent online safety messages at home and at school. Alongside education, the school uses appropriate filtering and monitoring systems to help provide a safe online environment for all pupils.
